Throughout Curriculum in Teaching ARt we worked on lessons plans that were built into a unit plan. My Unit plan, titled 'Emotions in Art', is composed of three lesson places and is targeted for 9th grade level. Students will learn different materials and methods of art through this unit, while discovering how to show emotion through their display of artwork.
This course explores ways in which contemporary issues in art, education, and society influence theories and practices in art education. As an issues-oriented course, topics for consideration in ARE 6641 are grounded in practices that foster personal creative potential for individuals and communities and that envision art and education as a form of critical public engagement based on democratic values. *Taken from course Syllabus*
Special Topics in Museology is a class focused on subjects surrounding subjects such as race, sexuality, and historical events. How these are displayed in museums, and how we can best approach teaching these subjects as educators. I created a lesson plan titled Self Identity and the Civil Rights Movement.
The studies in this class consist of examining the philosophical and historical foundations for many contemporary theories, practices, and social issues of interest to art educators today.
